Review highlights
Based on 865 reviewsLe Petit Carillon is frequently praised for its authentic Parisian bistro atmosphere, highlighted by a charming location near the canal and a welcoming, attentive staff. Guests consistently commend the quality of the food, with particular appreciation for perfectly cooked steaks, flavorful pizzas, and well-prepared dishes offered at reasonable prices. The wine selection is noted as varied and reasonably priced, appealing to both casual drinkers and enthusiasts. The cozy patio and efficient service contribute to a pleasant dining experience, making it a favored spot for both locals and travelers seeking a genuine, friendly Parisian dining environment.
We had booked prior to arrival, which was as well as it was busy. We were clearly the only English people in the bistro but this only added to the experience as we felt very welcome. The staff could not have been more friendly and efficient. We both chose entrecotes which were cooked to perfection and delicious. We had a beer each and also chose a bottle of Brouilly which was really lovely. At the end of our meal our waiter gave us a complementary shot of amaretto and pineapple juice. An absolutely perfect evening. We returned for breakfast on our last morning which was equally good.Highly recommended.
Quintessential bistro experience by the canal at a reasonable price point. With a corner location and a wrap-around patio, the servers are kept busy yet somehow seemed to be available when you wanted them. No mean feat in this bustling Parisian establishment. The food was just as good as was expected and the wine selection was certainly sufficiently varied for this non-sommelier and at a good price point to boot. Highly recommend.
We took a pizza reine and some cheese for take away. The waiter was really friendly and nice. The food was amazing, especially pizza was stunning, for only 13,9. Would highly recommend this place!
I really enjoyed my meal here. I did the prix fixe and it was reasonably priced (26 for an appetizer, main, and dessert). No complaints about the food whatsoever. I had tartare and my husband had the rump steak, which he said was cooked perfectly. Servers were attentive and polite, I loved the little patio area, and I would certainly return. It’s also very close to the hostel I’m staying at (Generator) which is convenient!
Had our first meal in Paris at "Le Petit Carillon". Their burgers were really tasty. A great way to start our trip!
I've had coffee and beer here several times. Finally had dinner last night. Great sidewalk dining. I had the Royal Cheeseburger. Really good. Cooked perfectly, with hot crispy fries. Has cheese, perfectly fried egg, lettuce, tomato, and Canadian bacon. Really good, fresh bun. My husband had Steak tartare. Beautifully presented with all the fixings, also served with fries. Our waiter was excellent. I'll be back!
Our first meal in Paris and it was definitely a winner! We ordered a main plate and appetizer from the "prix fixe" menu. I ordered a salad that was LOADED with ham, chicken, potatoes, and cheese. My partner ordered a pork rib meal that was quite delicious. I would definitely recommend checking out this restaurant for a lovely (and filling) lunch next to the Canal St Martin.
A very cute place on the verge of the canal, the street is almost closed to cars so you will have almost no cars passing by.The food is delicious, the drinks are at a good price and the staff is definitely the highlight of this place. Kind, friendly, nice and professional. One of my favorites in Paris if you're not looking for a fancy place
